Fundraising For Fireworks "Slides Into Home Plate"

With just a few days to go before Guilford's Independence Day celebrations, fundraising for the fireworks display scheduled for Saturday, July 13th, is complete, says Adrian Price, who was helping to spearhead the fundraising drive. 

"I am happy to say we met our goal," Price said Wednesday. "We kind of slid into home at the last minute. We had a last minute donor that came through and asked us what we needed. for the balance." 

The fireworks display alone costs $10,000 and the money raised will go towards the fireworks display. 

The fireworks are just part of the festivities for the weekend. On Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Guilford Green, the town will celebrate the Community Picnic. The Community Band will be featured and there will be inflatables for the kids. 

A concert at the fairgrounds at 11 Lover's Lane, off of Boston Street, will kick off at 7:30 p.m. and there will be more inflatables for kids. The fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:25 p.m. at the fairgrounds at 11 Lover's Lane. The raindate is Sunday, July 14th.
