Guilford Public Schools will celebrate Earth Day by participating in US Veg Week. Chef Tim Cipriano will coordinate with The Green Team on vegetarian menus and using compostable plates and flatware.

In honor of Earth Day, Guilford Public Schools will participate in US Veg Week, offering vegetarian menus April 22-28 and by teaching students the importance of recycling.

According to a press release Food Services Director Chef Tim Cipriano will coordinate the vegetarian menus throughout the district and will be working with The Green Team – Guilford Lakes Elementary School parents - "to ensure that our students will be utilizing compostable plates and flatware and teaching the kids about recycling and food waste on Earth Day."

US VegWeek, now in its fifth year, "is a fun way to explore a wide variety of meat-free foods & discover the many benefits of vegetarian eating—for our health, the planet, & animals."
