North Guilford Nursery School Hires Two Including New Executive Director

North Guilford Nursery School (NGNS), one of the longest-standing nursery schools in the Guilford community, has named Guilford residents Robin Barron and Laura Caporale as Executive Director and head 4s & Pre-K teacher, respectively. The hirings come on the heels of strong growth for the preschool, which has nearly tripled enrollment in the past two years.

Robin Barron brings nearly 30 years of educational experience to NGNS. She founded, owned and operated Shoreline School of Montessori in Branford, CT, and has held positions as an educational consultant and teacher trainer/supervisor. At Shoreline School of Montessori in Branford, Robin was responsible for all school operations, as well as parent and staff relations. She brings specific expertise in the development, design and implementation of curriculums for preschool.

Laura Caporale is an accomplished teacher with experience in early childhood education, lesson development and classroom management. Most recently, she was a first and second grade teacher at Cox Mill Elementary School in North Carolina where she received the Teacher of the Year honor in 2008. She has served on a number of work-related committees and boards, including Cox Mill’s Strong Family Committee where Laura led the efforts to develop activities to connect families with the school.

“In addition to their exceptional professional background and experience, Robin and Laura bring to NGNS energy and dedication that we know will serve the school well,” said Amanda Loban, Chair of the North Guilford Nursery School Board of Directors. “We are deeply committed to providing the families of Guilford with a place their children can learn and grow, and Robin, Laura and all our staff are helping us honor that commitment.” 

Robin and Laura will work side-by-side with the rest of the North Guilford Nursery School staff which includes Mary Gannon and Penny Lesniewski (2s program); Francine Russo and Stacie Dziurgot (3s program); and Tara Huffman (4s program).

About North Guilford Nursery School

North Guilford Nursery School was founded in 1955 to provide families in the community with a quality, developmentally age-appropriate nursery school program. It became incorporated in 1966, and continues to offer children and families a positive, inspiring, memorable preschool experience. The school offers a drop-off program for two year olds, classes for three and four year olds, and a five-day Pre-K option.
