Last Day to Pay Property Taxes without Penalty is Friday, Feb. 1

Guilford property and real estate taxes were due on Jan. 1 – you have until Feb. 1 to pay them without penalty.

 

Time is running out to pay your second installment for all real estate and personal property taxes in Guilford without penalty. Taxes are due to be in the mail or paid in person to the Town of Guilford Tax Collector by Feb. 1, 2013.

Tax bills are issued July 1 each year and payments are due semiannually in July (first installment) and the following January (second installment). There is no mailing for the second installment of the real estate and personal property tax bills. Both payment coupons were included in the bill mailed in June.

Late payments will result in an interest charge of 3% of the full amount. The minimum interest charge is $2. The current tax rate is 22.36 mills.

Mail – Payments should be made payable to Tax Collector, Guilford and mailed to Tax Collector, 31 Park Street, Guilford, CT 06437. Please include the list number from your tax bill on your check to insure proper credit.

Tax Office – Payments made be made in person at the Tax Office Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. These payments may be cash, personal check, money order or cashier’s check. We do not take debit or credit cardsin the tax office.
