In Fundraising Race, and in Guilford, It's DeLauro By A Landslide

Rosa DeLauro, the incumbent Democrat for the 3rd Congressional District, has raised 35 times more in campaign donations than her Republican opponent Wayne Winsley.

A large portion of DeLauro's donations came from outside Connecticut, however, while Winsley's is entirely from Connecticut residents.

In Guilford, Winsley has raised just $250 compared to the $9,438 DeLauro raised from Guilford residents. DeLauro raised nearly 38 times more money here than Winsley. One of DeLauro's most generous donors in Guilford was local Democrat William Bloss, an attorney who serves on the Board of Educaiton. Bloss donated $2,500 to DeLauro.

DeLauro's reporting to the Federal Election Commission is for money raised between Jan. 1, 2011 and June 30, 2012. Winsley's fundraising went from Sept. 9, 2011 through June 30, 2012.
