Police Say Burglary On Jefferson Drive Thwarted By Homeowner, Neighbors

"The suspect was followed by the homeowner for quite a distance before being apprehended by neighbors who assisted until police arrived and took custody of the subject."

The Guilford Police Department is investigating an interrupted burglary to a residence on Jefferson Drive this morning.  Homeowners arrived home and located a lone male inside the residence.

A struggle ensued and the suspect was followed by the homeowner for quite a distance before being apprehended by neighbors who assisted until police arrived and took custody of the subject.

An accomplice was identified and located a short time later in Branford.

Currently being held are Matthew Kilbride, age 24, of Branford, for the charges of Burglary First Degree, Robbery First Degree, Larceny Third Degree, Threatening First Degree, Assault on an Elderly Person Third Degree, Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree, Carrying of a Dangerous Weapon and Breach of Peace.  

he accomplice, Katherine Garcia, age 23 of Monroe was charged with consipracy to commit the above charges.
