Police: Man Abused 3-Month-Old Child

Guilford Police say the baby was hospitalized in relation to the alleged abuse.

A New Jersey man is being held on $100,000 bond today after turning himself in to Guilford Police on a warrant charging him with abusing a 3-month-old.

The man, Daniel James Rudisill, 31, was charged with first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor.

According to a police report released Friday, the arrest stems from an investigation that began on July 25, 2013, when the the Guilford Police Department received a report of suspected child abuse from the Department of Children and Families.

The victim was reported to be a 3-month-old child that had been admitted to Yale New Haven Children's Hospital for vomiting, and a swollen head.

The alleged abuse took place at a residence on North View Drive in Guilford, police said.
