[UPDATED] Guilford Police: Home Invasion Suspect Arrested

The home invasion stemmed from a domestic violence incident, and at no time was there a threat to the general public, police said.

The Guilford Police Department has released the charges filed againt Lachat. 

They are:
  • home invasion
  • 2 counts second-degree assault
  • first-degree burglary
  • 2 counts second-degree criminal mischief
Lachat was held on a $500,000 bond, and arraigned today, April 2 in court.

A New Haven man turned himself into police after a warrant was issued for his arrest for a home invasion that left two people injured early last Saturday morning.

Guilford Police report Joseph Lachat, 36, Quinnipiac Court in New Haven, turned himself in this morning, April 2

Lachat will be arraigned in New Haven Superior Court with a court set $500,000 bond.

Police added that the incident stemmed from a domestic violence incident and the home and victims were specifically targeted.

And at no time was there a threat to the general public, they said.
