Guilford Police Warn of Thefts from Motor Vehicles
There have been almost 30 reported incidents over the past four weeks, including five new thefts from vehicles that occurred sometime late Thursday to early Friday morning.
The Guilford Police is warning residents to remove valuables and lock their cars in the wake of numerous reports the department has been receiving over the past few weeks regarding vehicles being entered and items stolen during the hours of darkness.
Vehicles Ransacked
Guilford Police Lt. Robert Robinson reports that most vehicles that have been entered are unlocked and are in the victim's driveways.

"Vehicles are usually ransacked when entered," Robinson stated in a press release.
Items taken from the cars are generally loose change, cash and pocketbooks. Other items of value, however, have been also reported stolen, such as cameras, vehicle GPS and other electronic devices.
