Last month, the Guilford Police Department participated in a two week awareness campaign for 'Click It or Ticket.' During the campaign, the department reports they issued 56 infraction citations for seatbelt violations. According to Guilford Police, the citations were issued due to regular patrols and checkpoints set up during day and nighttime hours.
"The Guilford Police continue to issue citations on a regular basis, as we feel seatbelt use is a primary factor in reducing injury in vehicle collisions," Sgt. Robert Dube said in an email to Guilford Patch. "These high profile campaigns are designed to bring seatbelt safety to the forefront of driver safety and hope that we can achieve 100% compliance towards our safety goal."
The Guilford Police Department would like to thank the Mason Family for their efforts and support towards our goal of eliminating occupant injury. Remember Kelley's law, "Keep Everyone Living Life, Engage Your Seatbelt".
