Guilford Police Department Help 48 Families With Child Safety Seats

And, seat belt check resulted in 19 seat-belt infraction citations being issued. Here's how you can get your child safety seat checked.

Guilford Police Department announces results of Child Seat Safety Clinic. from May 20th, 2013 Guilford

 On Monday May 20th at 10:00 AM Guilford law enforcement officials held a “Child Safety Seat Clinic.”

The clinic was held at Shoreline Plaza, 900 Boston Post Road.

As part of the clinic, the Guilford Police also set up a “Click-It or Ticket” seat-belt checkpoint.

The Guilford Police Department offers installation and inspection of Child Safety seats to the public on the first Wednesday of every month from 07:30AM-09:30AM, and the third Sunday of every month from 3:30PM- 5:30PM.

The service is open to the public, and is free of charge. The clinic and seat-belt check point were held jointly.

During the day child seat safety technicians from the Guilford Police Department installed and inspected (48) child safety seats. The “Click It or Ticket” seat-belt checkpoint resulted in (19) seat-belt infraction citations being issued. This is a year-round priority for state and local police, and “Click It or Ticket” helps law enforcement agencies shine a spotlight on the law and the importance of buckling up.”

According to the Fatal Accident Records System, during 2011 in Connecticut, 44% of motor vehicle occupant fatalities were NOT belted. An estimated 12,000 people a year in CT sustain moderate to severe injuries as occupants in car crashes.
