Buckle Up! Guilford Police Promotes "Click It Or Ticket" Campaign Through Dec. 16th

Guilford Police join the national campaign "Click It Or Ticket" now through Dec. 16th to promote seat belt usage and enforcement

Starting yesterday, the Guilford Police Department joined thousands of other law enforcement agencies to promote the high visibility seat belt enforcement campaign "Click It Or Ticket." The event, that continues through December 16th, encourages seat belt usage, regardless of how long you're in the car or when you're traveling.

"Unfortunately, the majority of injuries sustained in motor vehicle collisions were caused by passengers not wearing their seat belt," the Guilford Police Department shared with Guilford Patch. "The Guilford Police are continually encouraging motorists to buckle up before heading out in order to ensure a safe, happy, and healthy holiday season!"

Guilford Police Department would also like to remind residents that Connecticut law states that anyone under 18 years of age must wear a seat belt. The fine for failing to do so is $92.00.

In conjunction with the event, Guilford PD plans to set up several checkpoints throughout town during this period, so make sure you buckle up!
