Shop and SEA Event Dec. 9th Brings Healthy Food, Entertainment, and More

Shoreline Eldercare Alliance teams up with Guilford Chamber of Commerce to present an afternoon filled with shopping around the Green, a nutritionist from Yale, healthy food from local SEA chefs, and performances by a quartet from the Guilford High Scho

 

This Sunday, December 9th, Shoreline Eldercare Alliance (SEA), presents their SHOP and SEA event at the Guilford Community Center from 2-4 PM. The free event will focus on the importance of healthy nutrition as we age. Residents are encouraged to shop around the Green first, and then stop by the Center! There's no need to register, the event is open to the public!

The event will feature Lindsay Matson, a registered dietitian and certified Gerontology Specialist from Yale New Haven Hospital, who will present on the importance of healthy foods throughout the year. She'll also share tips on how to enjoy the holiday, but still keep an eye on nutrition. Recipes will be provided to those who attend.

The Holiday celebration continues with healthy food presented by SEA member chefs. Participating Chefs in attendance are from several are facilities including:

Larry Santamaria, The Guilford Senior Center Chef, will also be a participating chef at the event. Recipes will be provided so you can recreate their masterpieces at home!

While you're dining on these delicious, and healthy, creations, enjoy entertainment that will fill the halls of the Community Center. Performances will include appearances by a quartet from the Guilford High School Symphony and eight members of "Voices" from Guilford High School Choir. There will even be a sing along if you want to chime in!

SEA is a not-for-profit group of ethical business owners and representatives of area organizations who provide senior adults and community members with information, resource referrals, education, and quality professional services. They are committed to excellence in senior care. This event is presented in partnership with the Guilford Chamber of Commerce.
