“The people of Connecticut have made their call for change loud and clear,” said Senator Meyer. “I am very pleased to see so many people coming together to demand responsible legislation to prevent violence like what we saw at Sandy Hook Elementary School. It seems that every town in the State is represented today, and I could not be more proud to be here with my constituents.”

Rally participants heard from Newtown residents, families of the victims, and shooting survivors, in addition to Governor Malloy. A special bipartisan legislative task force is currently charged with crafting legislation for the General Assembly to take up in this legislative session addressing issues around gun violence, school safety, and mental health.
