Pet of the Week: Milo Still Seeking a Home after Two Months at Guilford Animal Control

Milo, a nine month old Pit Bull Terrier Mix, has been at Guilford Animal control for almost two months and is ready for a change of scenery.

On Nov. 26th, Milo was surrendered to Guilford Animal Control by an owner who could no longer care for him. Since then, he's been waiting to find a family that's ready to bring him home.

Milo is about 9 months old, not fixed, and weighs between 60-80 pounds. According to his listing on Petfinder, he is a little submissive and scared, but very sweet.

When I came by for a visit, he seemed very energetic and ready to play. "He seems to be a really good dog," Animal Control Officer Kelly Pinette told Guilford Patch. "You can tell he's really smart."

After a trainer paid Milo a visit, Pinette learned a little more about his needs. "After working with the trainer, I would recomend that he not go home with a family who has little kids," Pinette said. "He just likes to jump too much.

"Other than that, he's really willing to listen," she continued. "He's still a young dog, so there's still a lot he can learn. Because he's so engergetic, we also haven't really gotten to see him with another dog. So, if you own already own a dog, and think you want to bring Milo home, be sure they meet each other before making any adoption decisions."

If you're ready to give Milo a home, call Guilford Animal Control at 203-453-8083.
