Pet of the Week: Cute Terrier Mix Ready for her Forever Home!

This three-year-old terrier mix at Guilford Animal Control will be up for adoption January 18th!

Guilford Animal Control is currently the home of this adorable terrier mix, but come January 18th, this pup will be up for adoption to find her forever home. The not-yet-named cutie is about three-years-old and is super friendly with people.

"We found her in the woods wandering around in North Guilford with another dog we have here," Animal Control Officer Kelly Pinette told Guilford Patch. "We don't know the details of what happened, but it's most likely the two were abandoned."

The Terrier mix was found December 22nd, 2012, and Pinette began normal procedures when dogs are located. "We give the owners 2 weeks to come forward, then we start advertising the pet, and then the animal goes up for adoption, which is where we are now," Pinette explained.

"This little girl is great with people, but can get a little aggressive with other dogs," continued Pinette. "So I would like to see her placed in a home where she is the only dog."

While visiting the shelter, I was able to visit with the pup, and she was so friendly, greeting me with bouncy jumps and licking my hands as I went to pet her. She patiently waited while I attempted to take a picture of her amidst her excitement.

I also got to visit the Pug/Chiwawa mix this dog was found with, who was just as friendly, and around the same age and size.

"The pug mix is great with other dogs as far as we've seen," Pinette explained. "She just wants all the attention, but who can blame her." The pug mix already has an interview with a family this coming week, so if you're interested, the time to call is now!
