“Santa invites kids to share their Christmas wish lists following the official ceremony and many merchants will be open for those who wish to do some shopping,” stated the Guilford Chamber of Commerce in a press release.

Prior to the tree lighting, at 5 PM, there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for Virginia Gresham's Girl Scout project dedicating historical plaques on the lampposts around the Town Green.

The Guilford Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Guilford sponsor the event. According to a press release, the event is made possible through the dedication of many volunteers, merchants, Chamber Board members and Town employees. The tree lights will be strung through the cooperation of Steve Simonetti, Bartlett Tree, and the Guilford Park and Rec Department.

“Music for the event will be provided by Horace Little, the Senior Chorus, Adams Girls Ensemble, SARAH Chorus, Tom Boates /GHS Jazz Ensemble and Mark Sullivan with student representatives from the area schools introducing the songs,” the press release explained.

So kick off the Holiday Season with other Guilford residents and join our community on the Green this Friday! We’ll see you there!
