[Update 11:00 AM Sunday] Guilford Recovering From Blizzard: Who's Open? Who's Closed?

Recovery from the Blizzard continues here in Guilford. Several business were forced to not open Saturday due to hazardous and impassable roads. Who will open Sunday? Who will stay closed?

Please Note: This list is only applicable on Sunday.  Many Guilford businesses reopened Monday and this article reflects nothing but Sunday openings.

We will continue to update this list throughout the day!

The terrible road conditions after 33" of snow Guilford have closed many local businesses for Saturday and some for Sunday as well.

By checking out Facebook we've found that, according to their posts on FB or Comments, these Guilford spots will be open today, Sunday:

  • Rituals Spa (10AM to 6PM)
  • The Hidden Kitchen, Guilford Connecticut
  • Page Hardware & Appliance Co. (Their message: Page's will be opening again at 9AM Sunday morning. We ordered 100 roof rakes (21-foot, $59.99) for delivery on Wednesday. If you wish to reserve one, comment or message us.)
  • Walmart in Guilford (7 AM)
  • Dunkin Donuts at Exit 59 (Between 6 AM and 7 AM)
  • Naples Pizza
  • Jordie's Toy Store (Their message: Jordie's is going to be OPEN for business today...the girls can get there to open...which is very exciting...11-4...yipee...)
  • Bishop's Orchard (Sarah Bishop DellaVentura Posted this on Facebook: Bishop's Orchards will be opening at 12pm today and closing at 6pm. Be safe if you are out on the roads!)
  • Shoreline Wine

And these will be closed today, Sunday:

  • North Guilford Congregational Church UCC (no worship and no Sunday School)
  • Flutterby (plans to open Monday) (Their message:  Flutterby will be closed until Monday 10am. We've rescheduled our Valentine's party to Weds 4-7pm. Thank you!)
  • Guilford Art Center (planning to open Monday)
  • Whipit CrossFit
  • M!X Design Store (Their message: Mix will be closed today but open tomorrow. Valentine's special (20% off one item) extended until Thursday.)
  • The Stone House Restaurant (Their message: Well we are down here digging away at the snow, but it doesn't seem to be helping! Unfortunately the restaurant will be closed today, Sunday, as well. We hope to re open for normal business hours again on Tuesday. But you know what, we will take this over a hurricane any day. Stay safe everyone!)

Several businesses haven't posted yet, but we'll keep you up to date when we hear. If you're business is opening, let us know in the comments and we'll add you to our list!

If anyone can help me get to Splash we are able to open. Chef Paul is at the restaurant and I need to get there. Can anyone help me get from Route 79 in Durham to Splash in Guilford so we can open? Diana Lynch 203-738-8605

Disappointing to see plows do a fine job of clearing Mulberry Point and Tuttles while turning back before getting to Indian Cove. It must be hard to decide which roads to plow in Guilford, but this was a surprising decision given that our electricity might go out at any time because of the damaged poles on Indian Cove Beach. Oh well.
