[Update] More Cancellations due to Hazardous Weather Conditions

Due to weather, Guilford Public Schools cancels all after school and evening activities. As the evening progresses, more cancellations start to roll in

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning, Coastal Flood Warning, Coastal Flood Advisory, Hazardous Weather Outlook, and a Winter Weather Advisory. Road conditions are quickly worsening tonight, and several evening activities have been cancelled:

The Community Center Building is now CLOSED and all meeting scheduled for this evening have been CANCELLED. This includes the planning and zoning committee meeting that was scheduled for this evening.

The Guilford Free Library CANCELS their Guilford Keeping Society event for the evening that was originally scheduled for 7 PM.

According to the National Weather Service, this is the forecast for tonight and tomorrow:

Tonight: Rain and snow. Low around 33. Windy, with a north wind 26 to 29 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday: Periods of rain and snow before 3pm, then a chance of rain. High near 44. Breezy, with a north wind 20 to 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 30. Northwest wind 16 to 18 mph.

ALL AFTER SCHOOL & EVENING ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED DUE TO THE WEATHER. THIS INCLUDES COMMUNITY GROUPS THAT USE OUR SCHOOL BUILDINGS. GUILFORD BEFORE & AFTER CARE AND SUNCATCHERS WILL REMAIN OPEN ON THEIR REGULAR SCHEDULES.
