Guilford may be buried in several feet of snow, but it's still Valentine's Day Thursday. And if you're on the lookout for some sweets for your sweetie, Guilford's got you covered. There are tons of businesses around town ready to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Ingrid M. Collins, owner of The Village Chocolatier, gave Guilford Patch a tour of all their treats last week. "We've got everything," she said. "From chocolate roses, to truffles, sour candy hearts, we're fully stocked." The store has been closed for the last few days, but are open their regular hours now, 10am-6pm.
If a baked treat is more your style, then check out Take the Cake. The Guilford business was recently featured in The New Haven Register, which spotlighted their Cannoli Tart.
The Red Rooster Baking Company in another great option in town. Though they were forced to close because of the snow storm, they reopened Tuesday, posting this on their Facebook Page:
"... We have to start making cookie hearts for Valentine's Day....which is FAST approaching!!!"
Cilantro on the Green also makes some baked goodies and if your looking for something nice and cold, Ashley's Ice Cream is open!
