Kids' Programs at the Durham Public Library -- Winter 2013

Registration is Open for Children's Programs at the Durham Public Library!

Programs for Preschool and School-aged Children – Winter Session Begins January 7, 2013

The Durham Public Library will present four series of storytime programs for young children this winter. All programs include stories, songs, and activities.

Mother Goose Storytime will be held on Mondays at 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. from Jan. 7 – Feb. 25. This program is open to children ages 18 to 30 months and features simple stories and fingerplays for toddlers and their parents or caregivers.

Bedtime Storytime will be held on Mondays at 7:00 p.m. from Jan. 7 – Feb. 25. This program is open to children from 2 to 4 years and will feature bedtime stories, gentle music, and sing-along time. Wear your PJs!

Time for Tots will be held on Wednesdays at 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. from Jan. 9 – Feb. 27. This program is for children aged 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 years and features stories, songs and simple craft activities.

Preschool Storytime has two sessions -- Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from Jan. 8 – Feb. 26. This program is for children aged 3 1/2 to 5 years and will include tories, songs, and craft activities.

Programs for School-aged Children

Series-ous Fun! Book Discussion (Grades 1 to 3)                             Saturdays – Feb. 9, Mar. 9, & Apr. 6 from 2:00 -- 2:45 p.m.
Book discussion focusing on chapter book series. Refreshments provided.
Our first book will be Commander Toad in Space by Jane Yolen

Lunch Bunch Book Discussion (Grades 4 to 6)
Saturdays – Jan. 9, Feb. 16, Mar. 16 & Apr. 6 from 12:30 -- 1:30 p.m.
Bring your lunch; dessert provided.
Our first book will be The Story of Cirrus Flux by Matthew Skelton

LEGO Club (6 to 12 years)
Thursdays -- Jan. 17, Feb. 14, Mar. 14, Apr. 11, and May 9 from 6:30 -- 7:30 p.m. LEGOs provided, just bring your creativity!
