Whole Foods Recalls Mislabeled Soup

Soup labeled as Roasted Garlic and Eggplant Soup is actually Lobster Bisque.

 

Whole Foods Market is recalling soup sold in six states, including Connecticut, because of mislabeling.

Whole Foods Market Kitchens soup in question was labeled as Roasted Garlic and Eggplant Soup, but is actually Lobster Bisque. This soup could cause serious or life-threatening allergic reactions to those allergic to shellfish or milk, according to the FDA.

The soup was sold in 24-ounce cans in Whole Foods in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey between Sept. 29-Oct. 2 this year. The sell-by date is Oct. 4, 2012.

Customers can get a full refund by contacting their local Whole Foods or calling 617-492-5500 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
