Guilford Food Center to Undergo Roof Work; Store Will Remain Open

After a partial roof collapse in the wake of Blizzard 2013, Guilford Food Center will be undergoing some contracting work in their deli section- but the deli is still up and running, it's just located in the meat department for now!

After three feet of snow slammed the shoreline, Guilford Food Center suffered a partial roof collapse in their deli food section on Feb. 10. Though the store has remained open and business has been unaffected, there will be contractors coming in to work on the area in the coming weeks.

"Contractors have informed us that they've got about 5-6 weeks of work to replace the roof in that area," owner Ray Rosa told Guilford Patch. "But we've just made some rearrangements."

Currently, Rosa has no plans to close the store during the work. To accomodate the closed section of the store, the deli department has moved into the meat department while work continues.

"Part of the meat case how now just become our new deli department," Rosa shared. "But we're open in full force."
