Guilford Lakes residents, The smooth asphalt surface we once had has been replaced with the tar and chip macadam cheap alternative. What did our tax dollars buy us?

Our tax dollars bought us;
1) Greatly increased road noise, which does nothing good for property values on a busy road

2) Uneven road surfaces with gravel soft spots on the road sides that lack sidewalks, which are now unsuitable and hazardous for pedestrians, runners and bicycles.
3) Dead lawns along property road frontage due to being coated by gravel and tar overspray during road work.
4) Gravel patches coating once smooth asphalt driveways.
5) Damage to cars, lawn equipment and mailboxes due to gravel kicked up from vehicle tires and lawn equipment.
Please be mindful of the coming winter season when using a snow thrower as the plows will be depositing a snow gravel mix in our driveways for us to clear.
The Stepstone Hill Rd section up to Guilford Lakes School has been paved with smooth asphalt. The Town decided that our roads do not merit the same investment.
