Guilford Fund for Education's Duck Race 2

The Guilford Fund for Education's second Duck Race, “Duck 2,” will take place Sunday, September 30, 12-3pm, at the Olmsted Outlook on River Street in Guilford. Participants can “sponsor a duck” by purchasing tickets for $5 each; every ticket is matched to a numbered duck in the race. Thousands of rubber ducks will be released from their holding pen on the West River and head toward the finish line, 400 feet downriver. The winning duck will earn the top prize of $1,000 for its “sponsor.” Other top prizes include an Apple I-Pad, UConn basketball tickets, a
camera, a YMCA Membership and many more great prizes.

All proceeds from the Duck Race will benefit the GFFE, an all-volunteer organization committed to fostering innovation and excellence in learning for all students in Guilford.

Duck tickets are available for purchase at Bishop’s Orchards on Saturdays in September, 12-2pm, at the Guilford Chamber of Commerce,  as well as on the day of the Race. Look for our huge yellow duck!

The event starts at 12 noon with an "Educkational Festival,” held on the adjacent JJ Sullivan property on River Street, filled with activities for kids of all
ages-- music, interactive booths devoted to outdoor education organizations, food and drink and more. “The GFFE’s last Duck Race was a huge hit, and a fun
and exciting event” says co-chair Susanne Bailey-Rice. “The Race and the festival together make for a great community-get-together, where we can all
celebrate and support education in Guilford.”

Sponsors of Duck 2 are: Platinum: The Velez
Family Fund, The Guilford Courier;  Gold: Bishops Orchards, Guilford Savings Bank, MDG Associates, Inc., Northeast Medical Group - Yale New Haven Health; Silver: Spruce Hill Capital, LLC.
