Donations for Holiday Baskets will be Accepted Next Week

Want to Give Back During the Holiday Season? Donations for the annual Christmas Holiday Baskets will be accepted Tuesday and Wednesday of next week at the VFW. The program is sponsored by the Guilford Food Bank, VFW Post #7666 and Guilford Social Servic


After a successful Thanksgiving Holiday Collection, it's now the time of year for Guilford's annual Christmas Food Baskets. Donations for the baskets will be accepted Tuesday, December 18th from 2 PM to 6 PM, and Wednesday, December 19th during the same times. Contributions can be dropped of at the VFW in town. 

The program is sponsored by The Guilford Social Services Department along with VFW Post #7666 and Auxiliary, the American Legion and Auxiliary, GuilfordRotary, Guilford Seniors and Guilford Food Bank.

Distributions of the baskets will take place Thursday, December 20th, from 2 PM to 6 PM. According to Guilford Social Services, strong back volunteers are needed for this project. If you wish to volunteer your time, please call Pauline or Larry at 458-3536 between 6 pm and 9 pm.

And don't worry, nothing goes to waste. Food supplies that are not distributed for the Holiday Programs are brought to the Guilford Food Bank for distribution.

  • Cranberry Sauce
  • Stuffing Mix
  • Pie Filling
  • Pie Crust Mix
  • Cake Mixes
  • Evaporated/Condensed Milk
  • Turkeys
  • Dinner Rolls
  • Gravy
  • Sugar
  • Flour
  • Cereals
  • Paper Products
  • Instant Milk
  • Coffee & Tea
  • Tuna
  • Condiments
  • Pickles & Olives
  • Pancake Mix
  • Instant, Dried or canned potatoes
  • Beef Stew
  • Raisins/Nuts
  • Snacks
  • Juice
  • Syrup
  • Broth/soup
  • Fresh veggies like white or sweet potatoes, turnips, acorn or butternut squash, onions, celery, carrots
  • Canned vegetables

If you're interested in donating at another time of the year, the food bank is open year round to provide for Guilford residents in crisis. Donations are always appreciated.
