Guilford Coaches Workshop October 29

Admission is free to anyone who coaches Guilford Youth.

Guilford DAY is sponsoring an upcoming "Coaches Workshop by Positive Coaching Alliance." The national non-profit developing “Better Athletes, Better People” works to provide youth and high school athletes "a positive, character-building youth sports experience," according to Guilford School's Communication Coordinator, Lorri Haan.

The workshop will be held Tuesday, October 29 from 7 to 9 PM at the Guilford Free Library.  Admission to the workshop is free to anyone who coaches Guilford Youth.

"DAY’s sponsorship makes it possible for coaches in Guilford to attend the workshop for free," Haan continued in an email to Patch. "Our other PCA workshops have been very successful and participants from high school coaches to youth football coaches have come away with many new insights and skills.  In fact, our high school AD recently had our high school team captains participate in one of the PCA workshops."

The upcoming workshop is titled “Developing the Triple-Impact Competitor” and defines the athlete’s relationship with himself, teammates and his/her sport.

DAY board member, Kim Beckett, organizes the PCA workshops. She can be reached at 203-214-6401or kim.beckett@yale.edu
