Asiye On How To Make That Transition From Spring To Summer

And here's some advice for graduation day fashion, "don't overwhelm."

When it comes to making that transition from spring to summer fashions, Asiye Kay of Asiye's fashion house in Madison has a little bit of advice.

In a recent segment on WTNH-8 TV with Teresa LaBarbera, Asiye provided some advice on how to stay comfortable this time of year. She also highlighted some upcoming fashion trends, and also had a recommendation for graduation day.

When it comes to dressing for the weather, look for transitional pieces that have a light look and feel, but perhaps cap sleeves for when it gets colder at night. Coordinate with a sweater for chilly evenings as well, Asiye said.

Upcoming fashion trends include "lots of floral, maxi dresses, two-piece dressing, and big chunky necklaces and earrings, she said. And, when it comes to fashion, she said, have "a lot of fun this summer."

But, when it comes to graduation day, Asiye said, it might be best to dial it down a bit and go for a more classic look. While working with two models--Michelle from Timothy Pamment Salon in Madison and Erin from Daniel Hand High School (Happy Birthday Erin!)--Asiye said when it comes to your big day, "don't overwhelm."

"It's about your accomplishments," she said.

Asiye's is located at 757 Boston Post Road in Madison, in the heart of Madison's shopping and restaurant district, right next to Madison Art Cinemas and across the street from R. J. Julia. The phone number is (203) 245-1200. You can check out the store website at www.asiyesboutiques.com
