Who: Kate’s Camp for Kids! brings together professional teaching artists from two of the area’s leading providers of arts education - Community Music School and Tracy Art Center - with other experts in their disciplines to the state-of-the-art Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center. The Camp will maintain a camper to staff ratio of 8 to 1; camp physicians are Wildwood Pediatrics.

What: A summer arts day camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 10 years old. Activities are focused on four art disciplines: music, theater, visual art and dance. Each week long session offers a diverse range of activities on a rotating basis, ensuring a fresh experience for even the most frequent camper. Every day campers will use their imaginations to create music, art, movement, and characters! The week culminates in a performance for family and friends that unifies all of the art forms.

Where: Kate’s Camp for Kids! takes place at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main Street in Old Saybrook with visual art classes at Tracy Art Center, located just across the street.

Kate’s Camp also includes an early evening program for youth ages 10 and up. Under the artistic direction of Pamela Eberly, The Kate Players will produce a Broadway revue where campers will have a hand in every aspect of staging and choreographing a dazzling selection of Broadway show tunes. This program meets Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8 pm on July 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, and 31 with a performance on the final day.
