Just Four More Weeks to the NAMIWalk!

Now more than ever is the time to stand up to the stigma of mental illness. In the wake of recent events, that stigma has once again reared its head. All of us who are living with a mental illness owe it to our friends, our families and ourselves to get out to Hartford’s Bushnell Park on May 18 and show the world we are not ashamed of our illnesses. And we need to raise funds so that the Connecticut chapter of the National Alliance for Mental Illness can continue to provide the free support groups and educational programs it delivers to more than 8,000 people each year. So far we’ve raised a little over $96,000, but our goal is $200,000. Please help. Go to www.namiwalks.org/connecticut, and sign up now. And remember: All donations are tax deductible. For more information, call Janice Shilosky or Iris Nazario at 800-215-3021. Where: Bushnell Park, Hartford When: May 18 Distance: 5 K Check-in time: 9:00 am Start Time: 10:00 am
