Why We Offer Scholarships for Horse Trails to Learning

Today at HTL one of children from Bridgeport who was fortunate to get a scholarship to HTL, came to me and said, "Miss Paula, I am mad."  I asked him, "Why are you mad?"  His response was both heartwarming and sad.  He said, "There are only two more days to HTL."  I smiled at him warmly and said, "Please don't be mad, just be happy that you got to attend and meet all these great horses and people and let's hope that you get to come back next year." 
These are the moments that, as an instructor and the HTL equine science teacher, I will never forget.  This is why we seek funding, so we can bring even more inner-city children to HTL for fun, learning and memories.  It is because of moments like this that I wish I could win the lottery - so I can give even more children memories.
